Eric Jensen's brain research confirms that physical activity – moving, stretching, and walking – can actually enhance the learning process. This is the reason why I feel that my students will benefit from flexible seating. They will be able to fidget and wiggle and still be successful. Second graders are by nature full of energy and it is a challenge to get them to channel all of their energy into their brain for successful learning at school. This furniture will combine the best of both worlds, enabling my darlings to succeed without giving up being a kid. I can't wait to put this flexible seating into action. I am requesting some yoga balls with legs, wobble seats, flex bands to attach to our chairs, wobble cushions, and some knee pads. These items will provide my student with many options to choose where they would like to sit. It will also give them the opportunity to move while they are working.
