Students absolutely love to play instruments in music class. At this time, I do not have enough ukuleles available for an entire class of students to participate in whole group learning. The concert-sized ukuleles will provide the opportunity for classes to have whole group learning times. This helps students have hands-on learning opportunities, while also keeping distractions away from students who are not using an instrument during instruction. The ukuleles will play many roles in the program for the students. First and foremost, it will give all students a chance to play ukuleles in class without having to play "pass the ukulele". They will also provide me the opportunity of forming a ukulele choir at my school with students who are interested in becoming more advanced at the instrument. This will be an extra-curricular activity that a select number of students can participate in to increase their involvement in the school community.
