Eastside Memorial received free tickets to the San Antonio Zoo! However, our school has no funds for the substantial costs involved in transportation and lunch for our students. This opportunity will give our students in environmental science and biology classes the opportunity to visit a zoo for the first time in most of their lives and to see real-world examples of the animals, plants, and biomes that we have been learning about as well as threats these creatures face and our efforts to conserve their environments. Our students come from low income families and live in a city without a zoo. Without our help, they cannot cannot afford to go on a trip that many others would take for granted.
