My 2nd grade students learn in a Spanish speaking Dual Immersion environment where half of the instruction is in English and the other half is in Spanish. Some of our students have opted into our program instead of attending other elementary schools in the district to assist with reading, speaking, and writing skills in both languages. I have requested books, some are in English and some are in Spanish. The library at our school is extremely limited in quality picture books for English language learner (ELL) students who need multiple opportunities to practice reading in both languages.
