Popping into First Grade is what welcomes my students and families each day they walk through my door. This is my second year teaching, both of which have been in first grade at an interdistrict magnet school. My school serves both inner city students as well as suburban students. However, my school is classified as being a high free lunch school and I currently have half of my class below the expected grade level in reading. These students are considered "at risk" as far as the data tool Response to Intervention has determined.
