My students come in to Kindergarten at a variety of levels. I have students who are reading fluently above grade level as well as students who have had no previous school experience. They come to school for a short 3 hours and get very good at moving quickly and following directions independently as the year goes on. The majority of my students come to Kindergarten with rich life experiences and are looking for me to add to what they already know and challenge their thinking. My school is a community. The parents and PTA offer the teachers great support and provide many opportunities that would be impossible for me to do on my own. I have a few parent volunteers that are able to spend time in our classroom weekly.
