We need a carpet so that we have a fun meeting place for learning. The carpet area will be used for whole group learning and it will also be used when working in groups around the room. We will start our day on the carpet by greeting each other and setting goals for the day's learning. At the end of the day, we will all gather back on the carpet and reflect about the day. We will use the headphones to help focus and facilitate independent learning throughout the day when using our 1:1 laptops. The students use literacy and math programs to strengthen and practice skills, but it is hard to focus when everyone's computer is talking at different times. The headphones will allow the children to hear what they are working on and cancel out the noise from other's computers. This is especially helpful when they are going to be completing online assessments this year.
