Trying to teach reading through a screen was challenging and difficult. Now that students are back in the classroom, I need to meet each scholar where they are at and make reading engaging, multisensory, and FUN! Students will use the magnetic chips to map a word then blend the sounds into a word by moving the magnetic wand over the chips. RF.2.3 Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words. RF.2.3a Distinguish long and short vowels when reading regularly spelled one-syllable words. RF.2.3b Know spelling-sound correspondences for additional common vowel teams.
