This project will give our students many new reading books on composers and famous performers. The instruments will allow our students to play instruments in ensembles. Over 95% of our students get free lunches and breakfasts so that they will have enough to eat every day at H Elementary School. The next city over is where they have lots of money and kids get to see Broadway musicals funded by the school and the high schools have their own recording studios. This year we started with almost no musical instruments. Kids know that their educations are not like those of the suburban school kids. Kids know that when you spend money on them providing great equipment and experiences for them that they matter. These kids need to feel valued. Music binds our school together as a community. Music brings joy into our schools. When you provide children with enjoyment at school, they want to come to school every day.
