My classroom is a self-contained Autism class serving 8 students in grades k-2. They are all on different academic level and have variances in skill levels as well. Some students are nonverbal, while most have limited speech and communication skills. We work on each area of development such as academic, social, emotional, behavior, communication and motor skills throughout the day. Each student has their own unique need and amazing personality. Our class never has the same day twice and it is always filled with eagerness, smiles and laughter.
