My students need a space in my classroom where they can feel safe, warm, and loved. By creating a reading retreat, my students will have a comfortable nook area where they can practice their reading skills while at the same time having a safe space to go to when they need a break from anything that may be going on at home. My goal is to create this special reading nook corner with comfortable pillows, rugs, seats, and fantastic books in which students can comfortably get lost in a book and take a break from the negativity they face in their lives.
