I have a very special group of students. They are all talented and excited when it comes to learning new things. We begin our day every day with the mantra: I am strong, I am smart, we are all equal. They say each line together as a class and enjoy this time of the day. I want each of them to have faith in themselves and see themselves as I do. Each one is special and has so much to offer the world. Our school is a Title I school, with over 85% of our students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. We also have a large ELL population and many migrant families. The children from migrant families spend most of the year split between multiple schools causing a disruption in their education for which I must try to make up while they are with me. Although my students come with these obstacles in their path they are able to enjoy learning and remind me of the joys as well.
