In many ways my third grade classroom does not look very different than it did in the past. One big change is technology, such as the document camera and projector which I use to for videos, slide shows, and other presentations. Students also regularly use computers and computer skills are emphasized. A bigger difference is that students are asked to think. In the past third grade was more about memorizing facts and procedures. Now, we expect students to think and reason. It is not enough to get an answer correct, I ask students to figure things out and explain their reasoning. My students will face a very challenging world. My goal is to support them as much as possible by developing their various abilities. Last year donations of PE equipment helped me teach a quality PE program to my students. I hope you will support me to provide my students a rich curriculum. My students deserve the best, thank you.
