My students are bilingual 9-12th graders from various Spanish-speaking countries. We are respectful to one another, and believe laughter is a great part of learning. My students know they are safe and can speak freely on any topic so long as they show respect and dignity. Opinions are welcomed and strong. I teach them history and Spanish language arts. When discussing history I always try being as fair and balanced as possible. I remind them there are always two sides to every story (especially in history)! I strive on making the history fun and the learning lasting! My students are being prepared for the real world and I do not make excuses for them. They are challenged to give their very best as I give them my best. We are in need of an ELMO, some recording devices for special projects (digital cameras, recorders). We could also use manipulative globes for geography.
