There is limitless creative potential here at the King School. Students come to their Arts Specialists ready to learn new ways of expressing themselves. Their work is beyond impressive and inspires the arts team to continue to find new and exciting ways to engage our students in the creative process. My students, 86% of whom qualify for free or reduced lunch, many coming from challenging backgrounds, relish the opportunity to let their voices be heard. With limited access to equipment we've written, produced and filmed student music videos, short films, movie trailers and skits. Students have written original songs and researched painters to learn how to adapt their styles into their own work. The benefits of arts in education are undeniable and our students typify how the arts teach students new ways of thinking and being.
