Research shows that children need to stay active to stay engaged. Think about it - adults fall asleep in church, zone out at work - imagine a 10 year old trying to sit on a hard plastic chair all day trying to learn all the challenging curriculum we present them. They also need exercise to stay healthy - we only have P.E. twice a week so these balls could get them moving along the road to a healthier life style. Stability balls allow them to move, wiggle, exercise and self stimulate while still being an active participant in their education. I have seen the amazing difference stability balls can make for kids with special needs and research shows this can benefit the entire class. I believe ALL students deserve every tool we can give them to help them succeed.
