My class is diverse in many respects. I have students from a variety of cultural, linguistic, and socio-economic backgrounds. This diversity makes it a very vibrant and dynamic group and my teaching thrives on the socio-cultural bridges that my students build to better understand and connect in meaningful ways with one another. I am fortunate to have students who are inquisitive about their environment, who enjoy learning new ideas, and making discoveries that lead to new understandings about how the world around them works. Their passion for learning from me and from each other has further led me to seek new challenges to pose to them. And they certainly welcome the challenges and push themselves to meet them! As a teacher, I need to seek new ways to channel their passion and curiosity into projects that continue to stimulate their thirst for knowledge and boundless energy, in ways that maximize learning.
