My young students need a comfortable, secure, clean environment to best meet their learning needs. They are entering their first formal schooling setting, and it is vital to instill a love of learning in them at this early age. Part of creating a safe learning environment requires me to meet the physical needs of my students. In 90+ degree weather, students are uncomfortable and unhappy, which negatively affects their ability to learn. In order to provide an optimal school experience and to maximize learning, students need to be comfortable. A portable AC unit would eliminate the distraction of being physically uncomfortable, allowing them to concentrate on learning and having fun!
