My students need to have access to engaging books that are of interest to them to become good readers. I want to ensure that I have a classroom library that is stocked with a range of books that meet the varied needs of my individual students. Having a library from which students can select a variety of fiction and non-fiction books will unlock a lifelong love of reading and learning. I am asking for a range of high quality, engaging classics, award winners and books on topics like civil rights and all-star sports. These books will allow my students to make the most of their independent reading time. They will also be the starting point for discussion and debate among students, helping them build many other useful skills.
