As a math teacher, one of the bigger gaps I see in class is around our math fact fluency (being able to easily and flexibly add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers). Having this fact fluency is critical to so much of the work we do in 5th grade: multiplying and dividing decimals and large numbers, finding equivalent fractions, calculating volume, and so much more! Reflex is an amazing math app the helps students build fact fluency in fun, engaging ways. Students compete in different challenges that deepen their understanding of what these operations mean and help them to think flexibly about strategies for solving them.
