It is time to update my classroom library! I am asking for help to buy new titles for my classroom so that I can continue to foster the love of reading for my students. It is SO important that students have access to books and truly learn to love reading. While I buy books ALL THE TIME to make sure that I have current titles on hand at all times, it is hard to keep up! Student choice and student variety are at the heart of helping secondary students re-ignite their passion for reading. I believe that part of my job is to go to the ends of the earth to make sure that students have access to books, and LOVE all there is to learn from books. I am SO thankful for the support of our community, not just in this, but in all things. Greene Central would not be the same without the outpouring of love and care from the people outside of these school walls. It truly takes a village to raise our students to be successful, 21st-century adults. Thanks in advance to all those who are willing to support this particular project, and who hold the common hope that we can and will make our students and school even better than before. If you cannot donate, here are other ways you can help! 1. Directly donate independent reading books that you read, you loved, and you want our students to enjoy (used or new). 2. Donate current newspaper and/or magazine subscriptions. (Really ANY reading material) 3. Send this link to others. Promote the importance of an active reading life.
