The journey begins with the pages of a book. Students are able to get lost in the pages, rooting for the hero and challenging the villain. Sixth graders have the opportunity to enjoy reading and making it accessible for them is my number one goal. I want to be able to give my students the chance to pick from an online or classroom library. Independent reading is a key skill that can really be harnessed and emphasized in my classroom. With a co-taught class in SPED, the iPads can give my students access in ways that would not be possible with a paper book. I also am requesting paper copies because nothing beats sitting down and reading a new book!
