My students need these instruments to form a stomp roaring jazz band. With helping hands from accomplished musicians throughout New York City including undergraduates and professors from Julliard and NYU, we will grow and develop young jazz artists from 6th to 12th grade. Each semester will culminate with performances before their peers, which I hope inspires further growth of this program. By learning how to play these instruments, my students will see themselves as powerful and capable of taking on any challenge the world throws them. Their music will be just another way that they make their story heard and become the young adults that will shake this world. My students need a trumpet, a trombone and two alto saxophones.
