I work at a title one school in a farming community. My students are almost all English Language Learners. Despite the fact that many of the students have family members working hard in the fields to provide for their families 97% of our students are economically needy. Additionally, 45% of them are migrant, and often miss school due to transitioning to new communities. My students love learning and are excited to come to school each day. As their teacher I make a concentrated effort to encourage that love of learning through creative and engaging activities. I thoughtfully plan lessons to include hands on activities, academic games and real life experiences.
