Children can be full of energy and are always on the go. So how can we expect them to sit still in our classroom? To help engage my students I feel I need to create a classroom that meets every child's needs and learning styles. I need a classroom that provides differentiated seating so my students can have every opportunity to feel comfortable and get them more engaged in their learning process. If a child wants to sit on the floor with a lap desk, I need to provide it for them. If a child wants to sit at a table, but cannot get comfortable in a hard chair, a yoga ball will aid them into becoming less fidgety. By donating to our project, you will be giving my two fifth grade classes the chance to learn based on their learning modality. You will be giving them opportunity to become college and career ready because their focus will be on their own learning not on whether they can get comfortable and situated at their desk. My goal is to provide an environment where students are given ownership. Every child has the capability of learning...it's how we meet student differentiation that will enable them to master and feel successful while they learn.
