The donations for this project will positively influence the lives of my students. As a first year teacher, my classroom library is very small. I have a bookcase that is completely empty waiting for new books. Reading is a fundamental part of every day life. By having a clearly labeled and organized classroom library, the students will be able to quickly access books that are on their independent reading level and interests such as I Can Read, Pete The Cat, and Cam Jansen. They will be able to spend more time reading than searching through all the books. Reading allows the students to discover new things and helps to develop their imaginations. Providing the students with various reading options allows them to meet their diverse needs. Having more books available will also peek the interests of my students. I want my students to be confident readers and by having a plethora of options to choose from, students will be engaged in their reading experiences. Thank you for your help in improving the reading journey of my little first graders!
