As an English and Reading teacher, I know the importance of reading. My students come from very challenging backgrounds and don't always have the resources they need to be successful in school. My students are in need of fresh and relatable literature to spark their interest in reading. Just reading for 20 minutes every night can have a huge impact on a student's success across school subjects and beyond. The books I have requested will be used in my classes for literature circles as well as book clubs after school. I have handpicked these books because they are engaging and interesting and I know my students will love reading them. Through reading, I hope to inspire my students and take them on journeys they never thought possible. I know in my heart that my students would be forever grateful if someone took the time and cared to invest in them and their future.
