A new classroom carpet will provide an area for students to gather safely while adhering to COVID mitigation protocols. Nevada Academic Content Standards ask Kindergarten students to "participate in collaborative conversation with diverse partners about kindergarten topics and texts with peer and adults in small and larger groups." (ELA K.SL.1) This new gathering area will provide an area for my students an opportunity to meet this standard. By providing my students this new classroom learning area, my class will now have a space to "actively engage in group reading activities with purpose and understanding." (ELA K.RI.10). Please help me provide my students with seating that will help them learn in a safe and positive environment.
