Right in the middle of the big city, our students are a wonderfully diverse group, full of energy and creativity! With their big hearts and minds, my students have so much to express. Drawing and painting gives them a great way to communicate and I am very proud of the beautiful artwork they make. I want to provide every possible art opportunity for them. We are a Title 1 school and the students face many challenges. Sadly, economic issues are a daily difficulty for my kids. I hope my classroom is a refuge, a place where the students can feel safe to express their ideas and dreams. My class can be a chance for them to show their true selves. My goal is to support my students and through making art, encourage them to better understand themselves and live positively.
