Having a class set of dictionaries and thesauruses will encourage my students to become more independent writers. Rather than depending on an adult to spell difficult words for them, they will have access to an abundance of words, definitions, synonyms, and antonyms all in one reference book! Writing can be a struggle for many students, but by having dictionaries and thesauruses available to them, they will be able to hone their spelling, build their vocabulary, and make better word choices in their writing! In addition, my students will learn how to use such a simple, yet powerful resourceful, something that is often forgotten in today's technology driven world.

About my class
