I teach in a Title I school where my first priority is to feed, nurture, and provide whatever other supplies my students need that year. Sometimes that means buying clothing items or school supplies, and sometimes that means buying food or snacks, so they don't go home hungry. Each year brings in a new set of students and a new set classroom necessities, and I am sometimes unable to purchase any "extras" such as rugs or headphones for my classroom. Our school has been fortunate enough to maintain a functional computer lab and a few classroom computers for each non-SOL grade. For many students, these are the only computers they have access to, which makes their daily computer stations for Reading and Math highly anticipated. Every year I am blessed with a new group of students who are eager to learn and eager to please. I strive to make each day in my classroom as fun and as meaningful as I can by incorporating technology and interactive activities whenever I can.
