In our second grade classroom, lots of work is done out of desks. Often children sit on the floor and in comfortable spaces to do schoolwork. Community Circle, which is held on a carpet space in our classroom is an important part of getting to know one another and making children feel safe. Each year I struggle to have all of the children fit comfortable in one space for community circle, and when doing smart board interactive activities. Having a large and beautiful classroom area rug will be helpful in creating the positive and safe learning environment that I desire for my students.
