My students are an amazing bunch. They live in the most poorest urban community in the country. Life here presents its challenges. Even so, their ability to laugh, sing, and generally enjoying themselves is truly inspiring to me, and has been that way for the 22 years i've been here. Our population makeup is 100% minorities, primarily hispanic and African American. They are absolutely adorable kids, with rich, colorful cultures and traditions. Their lives have enriched mine as much as I hope my life helps to do the same for them. For this reason, i'm taking this opportunity to try and use this platform to have an even bigger impact.
