My students enjoy coming to school daily, are eager to learn, and enjoy engaging in meaningful experiences at school through play. One of the things they enjoy most is painting, coloring, creating, and using a variety of materials and manipulative's. My students come from a neighborhood that is faced with many challenges on an ongoing basis. Our student population consists of 99% of our students living below the poverty level. Although many of my students feel unsafe in the neighborhood at times, they appear to feel safe at school. My students also enjoy singing, dancing, role-playing, and reading. They enjoy taking field trips outside of school. Unfortunately, we do not get out often due to a cut in funding to our program. Our school environment is nurturing, caring, and committed to providing experiences that will motivate our students to be life long learners. I often spend a great deal of money out of my own pockets to ensure my students have what they need. I love my students!
