Lakeview is a low income/high poverty with a high population of English Language Learners. This school is a small gem in the middle of a big city. It provides a warm and welcoming environment for all its 545 students. We are a 100% Title 1 school where each student receives free lunch and breakfast. My classroom is an English Immersion classroom where half of my students do not speak English as their first language. They are sweet children with supportive parents. These parents want their children to succeed and know the importance of being fluent in English as well as their native language. My goal is to provide a high quality, challenging academic experience for all my students every day. Even though they can't afford a lot, I can do my best to fill in the missing pieces by providing the instruction and technology they can't get at home.
