My name is Laura Bess and I am a 3rd year teacher. I currently teach 1st grade at North Wilkesboro Elementary School. I am very passionate about teaching and truly love all the kids I've taught! They are my greatest accomplishment so far. North Wilkesboro Elementary School is located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina. It is a wonderful school that serves children who are eager to learn. The demographics of the school are slightly different than those located within the town. NWES serves a very diverse population of students, coming from a wide variety of ethnic and economic backgrounds. NWES is considered a Title I School, with about 90% of our students eligible for free and reduced lunch. Because so many of my students do not have access to resources that other families may, it is even more important for me to provide them with as many rich resources as I can.
