My students are wonderful, bright, and hardworking!! They come from a high poverty community , we have a large number of Hispanic students who are just learning english for the first time. Often times many come to school without pencils, crayons, and paper so it is up to me to provide them with their basic materials. They come to school very excited to learn and eager to go beyond the limits of a regular classroom. We are eager to incorporate technology and coding into our first grade classroom. We have students who are very tech savvy and can maneuver a mouse and drag and drop skills who can complete a simple sentence during writing. I want to tie our regular core teaching time into our STEM lessons and help students see just how far they can go.
