I serve in a Title 1 school where my students face many difficulties before stepping into the classroom. Most of my students come from low income families. The majority of the students receive free lunch. I want them to walk into my classroom and forget about the troubles and stresses of their home lives. I want learning to completely captivate them and take them to a world beyond the one in which they currently reside. I aim to create a loving and nurturing environment that encourages critical thinking so that my students will be motivated to do more than their families have been able to do. I want to show them how education can change their lives for the better. Keeping them motivated and positive about their education is my number one priority, while showing them love and teaching them how to love others.
