The chess club has very active students on campus that also love to fellowship together through a common interest; playing chess! The strategies necessary to be a successful chess player help my students develop a strategic mind and very strong critical thinking skills. On our campus we have seen a strong influence in our special needs populations. Students in our special education program have really flourished playing the game of chess in recent years. It is a really neat thing to see! We are hoping to secure enough resources to have the ability to host tournaments with other local clubs at high schools in our area.
