Within our classrooms we will be using our easel to demonstrate the writing process which is a new program implemented within our school. The writing program entails a lot of modeling and visual aids to allow students to grasp the concepts and structure for writing. It allows students the opportunity to visually share their ideas. Some of the ways we will use the easel is by displaying anchor charts created as a class, whole group editing, and collaborative group work. The versatility of the easel allows us to use it in different heights and places throughout the classroom. It allows the structure of our class to be flexible with seating. The mobility of the the easel allows us to teach within whole group and small group setting. The double sided white board provides more space to complete more than one activity. The magnetic component of the easel allows activities with many magnetic manipulative we have in the classroom. Easels have been used for many years in the educational and business settings, but are proven to be an essential part of teaching today.
