My students are diverse, the majority of them come from low income homes, and around three fourths of my students speak another language at home. My classroom is very community oriented. Students love working together to accomplish their goals. At home their families value family time and community. My students families frequently ask if their children are good and respectful. Each of my students is full of laugher and joy. Their desires and dreams are to simply be happy! Giving to these students when they have so little makes a big difference. All school supplies down to pencils are provided by the teachers supply budget. All classroom materials are created, bought or found by classroom teachers. Each student deserves to have a welcome, fun and hands on classroom. Spending 6+ hours a day learning in one room can be difficult. Making a classroom a fun place for kids is extremely important for their education!
