My project is to create a flexible and multifunctional learning space that is designed to encourage higher order thinking skills such as curiosity, imagination, critical thinking, innovation, creativity, collaboration and communication. It will allow students to use their voice and provide access to materials, tools, and technologies which allow for a variety of learning experiences, supporting both traditional and non traditional. It will promote opportunities for student choice as they develop multiple 21st century skills. This space would be the Dana Exploratorium. The Dana Exploratorium will allow for students to have experiences that reach beyond the classroom. My focus is to inspire students to take ownership of their learning and deepen their thinking by exploring the world, and allowing access and the opportunity for them to come to learn, discuss, tinker, design, construct, problem-solve, create, discover, teach, build, develop theories, repurpose, invent, and share. The possibilities of growth through the process of exploration, discovery and creation are limitless.
