Students in our classrooms will be immersed in an emotional and educational experience of what life was like during the American Civil War by walking through the life-like “you-are-there” exhibits of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield, Illinois. We spend the last quarter of school learning about the Civil War and what life was like during that time. Going to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum will be the end of our American Civil War unit. Students will be able to see and experience the events and artifacts that we will have been learning that entire quarter. I want my students to remember what they learned and I know that experiences like field trips, help seal that information into their minds and hearts forever.
