There are a total of 40 students in my class. Their ages range from 3 to 5 years old. For many, this is their first exposure to a school setting. Everyday, students explore their learning environment. Students need many learning opportunities in all academics. They love to explore and discover our monthly themes. Our classroom is composed of approximately 30% EL students that need help in their primary language; several students have developmental disabilities in the area of speech and behavior. Our school is a Title 1 school where many students are high-needs; however, we as teachers make sure that we provide these students the optimal education so we can prepare them for the future. We provide additional before and after school programs for the students and parents. We continually held workshops, and conferences.
