We are requesting paint, brushes and canvass panels. A local artist has agreed to donate her time and create an original piece of artwork inspired by our current novel, "Refugee," by Alan Gratz. Then, in a two-day class period, she will instruct the students in a manner similar to the "Paint Night" classes that are currently so popular. Each student will create his/her own masterpiece to remind them of the power of literature and how it relates to fine arts. (The artist teaches after school classes for middle school age students, so she is aware of their capabilities and will keep those in mind while creating our artwork.)
