The door is shut, the editor shouts, take one. The record button is pushed and my students spring into action. The feature is about the new cafeteria manager. The student team highlights the personal biography of our new employee and urges the students to give the cafeteria a visit. The editor says, "Stop." The film team transfers the video and they begin editing using amazing film software. Giving students the tools they need and provide them with an opportunity to use them is important. My students have used our limited resources to build an amazing product. To help improve the quality of our weekly broadcasts, we need wireless microphones and better lighting. Our video camera and editing equipment are adequate but we need the lighting and microphones to really take our broadcasts to the next level.
