My kids are imaginative, creative, and hard-working. They benefit from hands-on, multi-sensory learning activities, and respond to tactile and technology -based learning experiences. The beauty of being able to have access to a Chromebook and tablets, is that my special-needs students can engage in learning activities that are engaging and mutli-sensory, hands-on, developmentally appropriate and adapt to the needs of each student. These lessons can be integrated into all academic areas from Literacy, Math, Science and Social Studies. The use of technology in all areas of learning is paramount to student success. The use of the Chromebook as well, will allow for effortless documentation of individualized student goals, objectives, and progress which will guide differentiated instruction to facilitate overall student success, and reinforce and remediate in areas of weakness to ensure that each student is learning to their fullest potential. I feel it is imperative for our students to be 21st century ready, and early exposure to technology will ensure that students will have the computer literacy skills that are required for the future and will be necessary in the higher grades for not only work completion, but academic testing. My students deserve to have these technologies available to them to grow and become life-long learners!
