I teach in a vibrant and exciting neighborhood that unfortunately is also faced with poverty, homelessness, and hunger. In the face of many hardships my students always rise to the occasion. They are bright, intelligent young learners who want nothing more than to explore the world around them. They are continuously questioning and looking for possibilities outside of the box. My school is growing and always searching for the best methods to educate children. We have a rigorous academic program that is paired with enriching arts based after school activities. Sadly we are not always equipped with all the materials and equipment needed to best serve our amazing students.
