My K-5 students represent around 20 different languages from around the world. Most have little to no experience with English when they enroll, and some have limited experience with school. They spend the majority of their day in a regular general education classroom. Then, they will be in a small group for ESL (English as a second language) for about 45 minutes every day, focused on learning English. We have a very motivated, diverse student body of about 450 students. Of that student body, about 100 of our students attend Spanish/English classrooms, and about 110 students (the students my team and I serve) have other languages (not Spanish) that we support in our ESL program. We have had award-winning growth in student progress and strive to teach students towards high levels of achievement. Our students work hard to meet our expectations!
