My students come from all types of environments; however, there is one place they should be able to be comfortable and free to learn, experience new ideas and concepts, and challenge their mind. Too often students come from homes without their own bedroom, let alone their own bed; however, I want my classroom to be inviting and encouraging. This concept can be achieved through my idea of a desk-less classroom. Yes, this can also work with high school students. I want students to feel at ease and ready to learn when they enter into my classroom. Items needed to create this desk-less classroom include alternative seating such as bean bags, lounge chairs, body pillows, portable laptop desks, etc. Currently the room consists of crates, pillow tops, one bean bag, and exercise balls.
